Meet our Business Analyst: Daniela

What brings you to FF, Daniela?

I have a degree in international business and specialize in business analysis. For me, the market is like a puzzle. I look at different pieces and try to uncover the underlying trends or opportunities and threads. There’s so much data out there, the environment is so noisy, that I’m trying to help find the underlying thread that helps people see their advantage. Looking at all the little pieces of the market gives us the whole picture. In my spare time, I love doing puzzles and reading detective stories. I get very excited when I find the key to these things. As an analyst, I try to calm down a bit because when you’re doing research you have to be unbiased. I test the threads and keep researching to validate those "a-ha" moments. I joined Further Faster because I wanted a role with purpose beyond financial gain. I like my efforts to contribute positively to society and this role helps me do that.

What's your superpower as a business analyst?

The ability to fly...above information. I think of myself soaring to great heights to get a holistic view. Each new perspective helps us see better what is happening. For example, how are customer demand patterns changing? How are supply chains being obstructed? What are the barriers to adoption with certain technologies and platforms? Those are the questions that motivate me to keep combing through the data.

Why do you like the analyst role on a team?

I've always been an analytical person. I look at situations from every angle. I look at the different stakeholders and their interests, and help the team build a hypothesis on a project. I like being an analyst because you're playing in the team. You're listening to a conversation, to ideas, hypotheses, and you're helping support by bringing the analysis necessary to validated those hypotheses. I love being the person who can provide that.

What's one thing people wouldn't know about you from your LinkedIn profile?

How passionate and open-minded I am about things. It's difficult to explain being passionate about your work. But I always put myself in the shoes of the person concerned, and try to see things from their perspective. I lived in Melbourne, Australia, for four years. I've lived in Argentina. I have a holistic, multicultural outlook and I rarely close down on ideas.

When you were a kid, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a lawyer. But at the root of it, it's the fact that I've always wanted to help people in one way or another. After studying three years of law I realized there were other ways to help people that I preferred. Research and analysis were the ways that worked for me.

What's one thing you'd like to accomplish professionally before you retire?

I'd like to found a nonprofit organization helping the environment, specifically reforestation. I also want to help people in rural areas get access to drinking water.
